Biography
George Shaw is a multi-instrumentalist that specializes in Clarinet, Chinese Winds (Bawu and Hulusi), Melodica, Pennywhistle, Recorder, and other ethnic woodwinds. He also dabbles in piano, percussion, and guitar. He is a former 2nd Clarinetist of the Golden State Pops Orchestra, and is an active composer, conductor, orchestrator, and arranger.

George was born and raised in Houston, Texas and began his musical training at age 10. While in middle school, he came to appreciate the work of John Williams and by age 16 was intent on becoming a film composer. In high school, George participated in marching band, jazz band, percussion ensemble, the Houston Youth Symphony and summer music camps which lead him to be accepted at The University of Southern California where he studied Music Composition with a focus on Composition for Motion Pictures and Television.

During his limited free time, George composes music that has personal meaning. As an Asian American with ¾ Chinese and ¼ Japanese heritage, George loves to research the sounds and instruments of traditional Asian music. He incorporates them in his concept albums which blend cinematic orchestra with music that would suit any martial arts epic.
