Dan Hegarty is a Los Angeles-based composer and musician. Dan's music combines electronic, orchestral and hard rock styles. Dan's musical influences include rock and heavy metal bands (Metallica, NIN, Iron Maiden, Van Halen) as well as soundtracks from classic console games (Castlevania, Contra, Metroid, SMB) and film scores (Aliens, Conan, Star Wars, Terminator).
Dan's professional music ambitions began as a native New Yorker and his journey took him to the West Coast as a drummer for bands such as Cliff 'Em All, Cobra Venom, Empty Shoes, Naju, and The Murdersuit Fiasco. Dan began his composing career with the award-winning series The Starmind Record (the story of two documentary filmmakers from Los Angeles that discover the presence of an extra-terrestrial intelligence) and continued with the web series SASSxACCELERATION. Paying tribute to his earliest musical influences, Dan released a collection of 80s cartoon theme song covers (He-Man, Transformers, Thundercats, etc) called "Rockin' 80s Toons" on Notefornote Music.
Dan is a member of ASCAP, ASMAC, the Game Audio Network Guild, and the Society Of Composers and Lyricists. He also releases music under his industrial/electronic alias, Conflict One Zero.
